Confession Time

Dear Family

It has been too long since my last post...

Seriously, at almost 3, Josh is bigger (and better*) than ever. Say no more; just look at the pics:

Better means wiser, stronger etc. Not better at sleeping, eating or staying out of trouble - in fact those are all worse. Which is good.

Josh Potter and Digbymort

We've been saying for a while that Josh is going to break something - of himself. An arm, a leg, a tooth, something. But we say it hoping that the inevitable isn't that. But it is - and it's happened. After a brush with Digby (the Ridgeback) - 10x heavier than Josh and 3x as tall, so he never stood a chance - Josh has a Harry Potter like gash on his noggin. Digby was just being himself and his excited bolt for the sheep caused Josh to move from upright to prone in next to no time and meeting the stony farm road with a thud.

Superglue, SteriStrips, a brave mom and a fainting father later all is on the mend and he and the dog seem none the worse for wear.

I've stalled building the go-cart or introducing him to a skate board as a result. He'll cotton-on soon enough and no doubt translate his now regular instructions to me to "Go faster, Daddy" when we head up to Bumble Bee to something more like "Look Dad, no hands!" Until then we're doing puzzles and play dough and I'm toying with the idea of buying him a violin...

Caterspillers

Just spent the weekend in Arniston. As pretty as a picture and a stone's throw from the beach. Adam, Kerry, Jessica and Luke joined the Garners and all got on like a house on fire. The caterpillars in the nearby bush probably wished that the house would burn down. As often as they could, Josh and Jess would raid the bushes for the fury worms and promptly squeeze the contents of either end out onto their hands. Boy George, all we saw was red, gold and green.
